On a rainy morning in September, around 11, Billie Louise Reynolds went home to glory. She was 80.

Billie was born in Hulbert on July 16, 1938, but spent earlier years growing up in Arizona where she played volleyball and enjoyed the evening skies - mentioning seeing the Northern Lights once, too. After moving back to Oklahoma, she married Fred Reynolds on April 11, 1964 in Stilwell and they started their family. She was well-traveled due to military placement and became a purveyor of fine cuisine - mainly of diner portion. Although, she had the best lobster during a layover in Maine.

Anybody who came to her house never left hungry. She ended her cooking career retiring from Cherokee Nation but still blessed loved ones during holidays with her recipes.
If cooking wasn't on the menu, she would be playing handheld games like Yahtzee or watching a gameshow - Wheel of Fortune was her favorite. It came on after the 6 o'clock news, which was a staple in her home along with westerns and country/gospel singing. A comfortable recliner and remote were included and high volume was because of dad she told her daughter, he would disagree if asked.

Grandma or "Granny," as known to her grandchildren, was always there to lend a helping hand or to listen - loving her family deeply. She was never too much in a hurry - once getting pulled over for driving too slow. Another time, pulling off to take a nap, but she loved to drive. During birthdays you could expect a text message, later on, with a balloon emoji - her iPhone was always in hand.

She loved antiques, jewelry and fashion - a good deal was pertinent and she knew her prices. Her daughters were always up for a yard sale adventure, usually ending with Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner. Fried chicken done right was her go-to. A trip to the Grand Canyon uncovered a piece that earned her praises - along with a story referencing a daughter-in-law as a "white person."
Despite her medical struggles, she always mustered up enough strength to be there for everyone - even dropping one-liners to brighten spirits. Her smile and laugh were one of a kind. We are all lucky to have known such a wonderful woman.

She's resting peacefully now, with her beloved Rocky - an overweight chihuahua who loved McNuggets.

She leaves behind husband, married 54 years, Fred Reynolds, of Ft Gibson and 6 children: Monica and Alan Spangler of Pocola. Mary Reynolds and Tim Hess of Muskogee. Kim Martinez and Juan Rodriguez of Tulsa. Justin and Michelle Reynolds of Tulsa. Jason Reynolds of Tulsa. Katie Reynolds of Tahlequah.
Also, 14 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents T.C. and Marcie Woodall, brothers Haskell Thompson, Marvin Hicks and James Grant, sisters Margaret Shobert and Ethel Dexter, a son Billy Reynolds and grandson James David Reynolds.
